Time to switch out summer clothing
Depending on where you live, it’s time, or almost time to switch out summer-minded clothing for cooler, fall weather clothes. It’s still pretty warm where I am, but even if it’s the same for you, you can get a jump on packing up the summer gear.
Place a bin in your laundry area and as you do laundry this month, start to set aside summer clothing as it comes out of the dryer - or once you take them off the clothesline. Hit your closet and take out all the summer clothing you haven’t worn in a while, or that you know you won’t be wearing again this season. Once you have a good amount of summer items saved up, you can start sorting.
What are you doing to get organized and ready for fall?
If you’re dealing with kids summer clothing, then sort out clothes that won’t fit your kids by next summer (no sense keeping them - unless a younger sib is getting them). Sort out any summer clothing you hated - like that tank top that seemed like a good plan, but wasn’t. Also sort out anything that needs fixed.
You should have three piles - one for Goodwill, one for fixing, and one for packing up. If you’re lucky you may not have a to-fix pile. Pack up and label summer clothing you’re keeping, and send the rest off to the thrift store (or hold a garage sale). If you have fall and winter clothing packed away, take them out of hiding and replace their storage spot with your summer boxes.
