Do You Have Time Management Issues?
I sometimes do. Working from home can sometimes make it hard for me to focus on the real tasks I need to be accomplishing.
When I was an employee, it didn’t seem to be a problem. I was an administrative assistant and I was known around the office as the “go-to-girl” to get things done. If you needed something written and fast, I was your girl. If you needed to send out a mass email quickly, again, let me take care of it.
It was easier at times to have someone give me the tasks that needed to be done and there was always a deadline. Most of the time the deadline was yesterday. :) I work well under pressure though.
But working from home has presented some interesting hurdles for me to jump over. Yes, I am in my “office” but I swear I can hear that load of laundry calling my name. I also can get sucked into the world of the internet and find myself reading useless information and wasting my time on meaningless tasks. Staying focused can be hard sometimes.
Jane May of Daily Web Ideas has a really good short and to the point article entitled “Time Management Increases Productivity“. If you work from home doing any sort of web related work, take a look at her article. She has some great advice.
