Home & Housewares Show on HGTV
Okay, so I just got through watching the Home & Housewares Show on HGTV and I saw some incredible products that I want NOW! It always amazes me how people come up with these ideas and also, that I can’t think of one myself. Some day, some day soon. :)
I wanted to highlight a few of my favorites that fit into the topic of organization. You’re going to love these!
The first item is the 5QT CollapsibleColander. It uses 2/3 less storage space, it’s easy to clean and it quickly drains liquid. Collanders always take up so much space in the kitchen. This product solves that problem.
I think it’s priced well at $13.95. I would definitely spend that on an item I use as much as a collander and an item that takes up so much space in my kitchen. If you are cramped for space, this is a great idea!
The next item is the 3QT Collapsible Bowl. Again, this saves space in your kitchen. Mixing bowls are another item that take up alot of room.
They are very durable and are dishwasher safe. That’s a must in my household! :)
There are several sizes to choose from: 5, 3 and 1.5 quart and they are priced at $8.95 to $20.00.
This next product is “priced upon request” which means $$$$$, but I still love it. It’s the Gladiator Laundry Suite and let me just say, it IS sweet! Here’s the description from HGTV:
Gladiator GarageWorks Concept Laundry Stack Similar to the brand’s Chillerator and Freezerator products the concept Laundry Station meets practical garage needs, taps into the Whirlpool Corporation expertise in the laundry sector, and sports the signature Gladiator brand tread plate look and rugged styling. The Laundry Stack also sports Gladiator GearWall panels on the side so consumers can easily attach hooks or baskets to the side of their unit - ideal for cleaning supplies, hampers or additional storage. The Laundry Station is useful to hunters looking to wash sporting clothes separately, or for especially dirty loads of laundry synonymous with muddy sports uniforms, gardening clothing and more. The Laundry Stack is currently a concept product. For a sneak peek of these amazing concept garage products of the future visit the www.gladiatorgw.com for more information.
Just a concept? Bummer!
I love closets! I really do. Take a look at the Luxe Wardrobe Automation. Here’s what HGTV has to say about this:
The Luxe Wardrobe Automation conveyer system lets you view and access your clothes at the push of a button, delivering your clothes to you, hanging freely and uncrushed, and most importantly, can more than double the number of items that you could put on a standard closet rod, in the same space.
There are 2 things that caught my attention “push of a button” and “double the number of items”. Why push a button? My dream some day is to have a closet where I have to push a button. Very cool! I also love that it helps you add more items to your closet without them getting crushed. What’s this baby gonna cost you? Just a measley $2,350. I’ll start working on my little nest egg now.
Do you have several outfits that require hand washing and laying flat to dry? I try not to buy items like these but I always end up doing it. I have some sweaters and jackets that I really look forward to wearing every winter that require this special attention and there is NO way I would get rid of them, but it is a pain to dry them.
That’s why I love this next product. It has solved that problem for you. It’s the Quick Dry Garment Drying Station by Hamilton Beach. I have a drying rack but it is nothing like this. My drying rack actually leaves creases in my clothes if I don’t lay it just right and I can only fit about 2 sweaters on it.
This drying station is so great! I can’t describe it any better than the folks at HGTV, so here you go:
Hamilton Beach® has developed a fast, easy, and affordable solution for air-drying clothes. The Garment Drying Station is a product that can dry clothes up to 75% faster than air-drying all while remaining gentle on fabrics. This unique dryer eliminates the damp-drying conditions that can leave just-washed clothes smelling musty and stale. Cool air is circulated evenly over large mesh shelves. The dryer decreases wear and tear on clothing, minimizes shrinking, and helps eliminate the need for dry cleaning. The drying shelves are removable, so they can be disassembled for easy, convenient storage.
I think the price of $99 is very reasonable for something like this that will help me take care of my clothes better. It will also save me on dry cleaning bills.
I saw them assemble and disassemble it on the show and it looked fairly easy. I imagine I would keep it up during the winter, but I have a very roomy laundry room.
So, there you go! There were so many fun gadgets and ideas on this show. I recommend you head over to their product page where you can see them all for yourself. Have fun browsing and come back and tell me about some of your favorites!
